8 Tips to Improve The Youth Basketball Program

1. Coaches must remain practical and fun game! Coaches must understand that adults can remain silent on the damage done to date, while the children forget the loss of a few seconds after the game and see where they get some ice cream. To keep children motivated coaches need to keep things fun to practice, rapid gay. It must be very small, in the queue. You should run a lot of fun exercises and games to teach skills at the same time.

2. Coach should be able to focus 99% of the players. This means coaches have almost no time for some education or offenses motivated to play. It is a waste of practice time. Instead of teaching children the basics and execute a simple movement violations.

3. Coaches have a third person for him to play defense. There is no zone defense and do not support. The young players need a base to build on it and teach people that it is easy for humans to walk on the road. Full-court press to play zone and teach young players are usually very difficult to break when they get older.

4. League do not allow full or half court press. A press conference is just taking advantage of mentally handicapped children who are not strong enough to defeat trap. He did not teach the basketball situation. He teaches bad habits and is a waste of time! You should focus on fundamentals and player development (see above).

5. Should be no three-pointers. Small children are not strong enough to shoot so far. They finally just "throw" the ball and develop a bad shot. Bad form to stick with them for a lifetime. If they are three, coaches do not coach or encourage the type of shot. It is very important for young players to learn the correct shooting technique.

6. For a child, the wheels should be reduced. Let's be honest. Small children do not have the strength to throw the ball to the rim size of 10 feet with proper form. I can not say how many children have distorted their shots with a shot at the edge of 10 feet at a young age. Children must be with a small ball on the edge of the image background (7-9 meters, depending on age).

7. Coaches must understand that children do not develop spatial awareness and depth perception, is an adult. You can not expect children to do certain things in the game the coach must also understand that the players make decisions every 2 seconds on the ground. These 20 decisions in 10 seconds. Hoping to make the child the right decisions on the basketball court at all times is unrealistic. And the boy cried out that undermine their confidence and reduce their long-term development.

8. Coach should not let losses bother them. The coach must teach the joy of life and bases basketball player who helped them in the future. Coaches must be enthusiastic, player 5 or 10 years and enjoy watching these kids succeed when they are older.
